One Little Step

Take One Little Step – that’s what I told myself one day when my ambitious goal seemed too much, too big, too heavy for my heart to carry. All I saw ahead of me was an impossible task.

It was daunting to look at the full picture. I didn’t feel ready, I didn’t feel prepared. Dare I say, I didn’t feel worthy. And I knew, this dream, this goal, was impossible to achieve in that one moment. But…

If instead I focused on just the next small task, the next little step, I would get closer to that dream.

And step-by-step, moment-by-moment, I would work the dream into a reality.

I love this quote I once read, “Dreams are goals with shoes on.” It feels so true. It is never easy to take a huge step into the unknown, to chase our dreams… but we can take a small manageable step, a gentle, careful step to nudge us closer.

After all, it’s not the destination but the journey that brings us joy, we might as well enjoy it, One Little Step at a time.
